  • What is the difference Fixed between LTE and 5G?

    Fixed LTE: LTE stands for long-term evolution. This means it is a wireless broadband internet connectivity service that provides high-speed data transmission for mobile devices and home internet use.

    Fixed 5G: With new advancements in technology, some providers can now make use of fifth-generation technology with faster speeds, lower latency (buffering) and greater bandwidth. It's the latest and greatest of wireless internet. Please note: Connectivity may be affected by router placement, interference, weather, or vegetation. In such cases, your device may switch to 4G LTE.
    Please note: Fixed Wireless services (LTE/5G) are meant to be placed in a router in a fixed address. MTN services are location-locked which means you will need to keep it at the address you registered with us. On Telkom, you can move the SIM to a different location. The SIM cards on all Fixed services cannot be used in a mobile phone device.
